Applicants must also show assets, with a requirement reported at 500,000 euros including a portion in liquid financial assets. Applications can only be filed through a licensed Residency Malta agent. Confirm the current eligibility rules with the official authority.

Routes

There is one programme with a property element plus government charges. On the property side you either rent or buy. Alongside the property element, applicants pay a government administrative fee, a government contribution and a donation to an approved non governmental organisation reported at 2,000 euros. Confirm the current amounts with the official authority.

Timeline

The process is reported to run roughly six to fourteen months from engaging a licensed agent to receiving the residence card. Confirm current processing times with the official authority.

Costs

The total outlay combines the property cost, the government administrative fee, the government contribution, the non governmental organisation donation and licensed agent fees. Exact charges differ for renting versus buying. Confirm the current government fees with the official authority.
