What Africa offers

Africa is not a single market. A handful of countries run formal investment migration routes, and they range from fast citizenship to long residency that may lead to citizenship over time. Each is governed by its own national law and its own authority, so figures and rules differ sharply from one country to the next.

Citizenship routes

Egypt is the clearest citizenship by investment route on the continent, with several investment options set in national law and a passport at the end. Other countries discuss or pilot schemes from time to time, so treat any new launch with care and confirm it exists in law before acting.

Residency routes

Several countries offer residency tied to property or business investment. Mauritius links residency to approved real estate or business activity, Namibia ties a renewable visa to property in designated developments, and Cabo Verde, also written Cape Verde, offers residency through property with a long path toward citizenship. Each sets its own minimums and timelines.

How to compare

Compare the outcome first, residency or citizenship, then the real all in cost, the time to the result, what the status unlocks for travel and tax, and how stable the rules have been. A low headline price means little if the route is slow, unstable or limited in what it delivers.

Choosing help wisely

We do not name, rank or recommend any firm. Ask for written fees, check licences and track records, and compare more than one provider. Use Get Matched below to be introduced to vetted, independent advisors who work across African programmes.

Common questions

Does Africa have a fast citizenship route?

Egypt is the main citizenship by investment route on the continent. Confirm the current rules and figures with its official authority before acting.

Are African residency routes a path to citizenship?

Some are, over a number of years of lawful residence, but the path is not automatic. Check each country's naturalisation rules separately.

Why do figures vary so much?

Each country sets its own law, minimums and fees, so there is no single Africa price. Always verify per country with the official source.
