Spain ended its golden visa. Organic Law 1/2025 was published on 3 January 2025 and the granting of residence permits under the route ended on 3 April 2025. The property purchase option of 500,000 euros that defined the programme no longer leads to a permit.

New applications are not accepted. People who already held a permit, or who applied before the closing date, keep their status under the rules that applied when granted, and may renew where eligible.
