The Friendly Nations visa is not available to Indian nationals because India is not on Panama's list of friendly nations. Indian citizens can still consider the Qualified Investor visa, which is open to all nationalities.

Eligibility for Indian nationals

Panama's Friendly Nations visa is limited to citizens of a defined list of countries, and India is not on that list, so this route is not available to Indian nationals.

The Qualified Investor visa is different. It is open to all nationalities, so Indian citizens can apply through that route. The rest of this page focuses on the Qualified Investor option, since it is the one available to Indian applicants.

Routes

The Qualified Investor visa grants permanent residency in return for a qualifying investment. The real estate route requires a minimum of USD 300,000 until 15 October 2026, after which the published minimum rises to USD 500,000.

Other Qualified Investor options include a securities investment of at least USD 500,000 placed through a Panama brokerage, or a fixed term bank deposit of at least USD 750,000. The funds must come from outside Panama. Confirm the current amounts with the National Immigration Service of Panama.

Timeline

The Qualified Investor visa is designed to grant permanent residency directly, and processing is often completed within a few months of a complete application and verified investment.

Confirm the current processing times and the steps that can follow toward citizenship with the official authority.

Costs

The main commitment is the qualifying investment for the route you choose. On top sit government and immigration fees and any independent legal and tax costs.
